The PDCGS is a society of around 40 members promoting Christian fellowship through meeting to play golf and post golf socialising at a variety of courses in the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire area - in and around the Peak District. Male and female members and guests are welcome.
Covid-19 has played havoc with our Summer 2020 and Winter 2020/21 fixtures - with our managing only 3 outings in total - inbetween lockdowns - and being very restricted on the important social aspect of our Society Golf. We hope and pray for better things in 2021.
Our Captain is Trevor Clay and his chosen charity is Framework (www.frameworkha.org). It's a local charity that works in both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire delivering housing, health, employment, support and care services to people with a diverse range of needs - it has Christian origins.
Last year, our programme of 4 events was very well supported and we were blessed with good weather on all occasions. Details of this year's fixtures are on our Fixtures page. Sadly, we've had to cancel our Bulwell and College Pines fixtures, due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Please see the Fixtures Page for details of the 2021 Summer series of outings.
Current status here. The competition is cancelled for 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Dave Newman is our Chairman.
The Peak District Christian Golf Society is based in

England Golf have worked closely with The USGA and The R&A to
help introduce the new single World Handicap System for the sport.
Together with golf’s handicapping authorities they developed a
universal system which applies all over the world.

The WHS system was introduced on 2nd November 2020
Changes to the CONGU Unified Handicapping System (UHS) came into
effect on the 1st January 2018. The most significant changes are:
The retirement of “Club Handicaps”, which is replaced by a new Category 5 (28.5 to 36.4) for Men and Category 6 (36.5 to 54.0) for both Men and Women, providing for a maximum handicap of 54.0 for all golfers.
Rules for Supplementary Scores have been relaxed to allow an unlimited number of score submissions per year and removal of the restriction of one per week. However, the restriction on Category 1 players remains.
A couple of explanatory documents from CONGU are here and here (FAQ).
It is with great sadness that we reported the death of our founder member, David on Sunday 3rd September, 2017. A private family burial too place in Darley Dale followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Dale Road Methodist Church, on Tuesday 26th September. The society was extremely well represented at the service reflecting the high esteem in which David was held.
Our past Chairman has given us a few thoughts on "Shalom". He produced various "thoughts" throughout the 2011 season about the Christian message and in particular relating to the Gospel of St. John. You can read more on our "About" page.
Was held on Thursday 1st November, again at Bakewell Golf Club. An excellent evening with Bakewell's usual exceptional quality food and our informative speaker, Richard, from Air Ambulance. Captain Eddie's prize went to Robin Baldry.
Congratulations to Dave Newman, our 2019 Knock-out Champion.
2015 was the Society's 10th Anniversary and we arranged special events to celebrate. Our first was to have an overnight break, with golf, at the Abbey Hotel & Golf Club, Redditch on 11th/12th May. Results and Photos here. Another thoroughly enjoyable presentation dinner followed in Autumn when we had an excellent speaker in PGA Professional Pat Flynn, the pro at Studley Wood.
